NOVA Application – Virtual Manager

Track and manage virtual resources in data centers and clouds

The Virtual Manager is a NOVA application that can be installed, configured and rapidly made fully-operational to enable control of configuration changes to virtual servers in data centers and cloud architectures

The Virtual Manager’s fully automated discovery feature creates a virtual construct of the virtual infrastructures in the secure NOVA Repository. This works with the ConfigCommander interface, simplifies administration, and is used to extract relevant information from the NOVA Repository for a wide range of reports for Data Center and Cloud operations:

  • The NOVA Virtual Manager consists of a server module and intelligent agents that support VMWare virtual environments of physical ESX hosts with Virtual machines. NOVA agents have a modest footprint and can be deployed automatically or manually to provide secure encrypted communications between the NOVA physical or virtual appliance and the agent deployed on the target machine.
  • User access to NOVA services is securely tied to roles, privileges, and user authentication. The NOVA Virtual Manager can provide logging and versions of changes in the servers, helping establish who made a change, at what time and why the change was made. It can also lock down the network or infrastructure to prevent unauthorized changes.
  • With NOVAVirtual Manager, operations can now implement a policy-based, real time solution to control server and applications changes and guarantee the highest possible availability and responsiveness to business needs.
  • The NOVA Virtual Manager enables operations to control and manage change seamlessly in physical and virtual environments across servers and geographic locations. It provides closed loop control of the compliance process and enables real time audits of operational, regulatory and security policies.
