Custom Encryption Overview

Cryptographic algorithms based on U.S. standards are not always ideal for governments or other private institutions that need to implement local, unique, or internally developed encryption algorithms. In some cases the need for custom encryption algorithms is based on local laws that prohibit outside encryption solutions. In other cases, organizations want to use a classified or non-standard algorithm to provide additional security.

For these organizations, Certes Networks provides the ability to encrypt network traffic using custom or proprietary encryption and authentication algorithms on our proven multi-layer, high speed encryption appliances. Certes Networks offers the only solution for securing any network by encrypting and authenticating traffic at multiple layers in the network stack:

• Ethernet frame encryption over Layer 2 networks
• IP packet encryption over Layer 3 networks
• Data payloads over MPLS networks
